.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1055 PM CDT Thu Sep 11 2025
Hot, but otherwise benign, weather is expected through the weekend as a ridge of high pressure slides over Texas. Abundant sunshine and raised heights will lead to afternoon high temperatures mostly in the mid-90s with some isolated spots reaching the upper 90s. Slightly cooler temperatures are expected next week, but still likely to see highs in the low to mid-90s through at least the midweek next week.
No chance of rain through Saturday, but could see an isolated afternoon shower or two near the coast on Sunday as the upper level ridge begins to break down. There will be a daily chance of afternoon showers and storms each day next week beginning on Monday along the coast. While the best chances will be along the coast where higher PWATs remain, but there is a slight chance of activity up to the I-10 corridor.

Light to occasionally moderate east to southeasterly flow (sustained 10-15kt, gusts to 20kt) will persist through Friday. Small craft should continue to exercise caution into Friday morning for the Gulf waters where the occasional higher gusts may become more frequent, and may need to continue into Friday afternoon. Winds are expected to become more southeasterly over the weekend. Seas will be around 2- 4ft through the rest of the week, lowering to 1-3 feet by the start of next week.
Little to no rain chances are expected through Saturday, but could begin to see isolated showers and storms over the coastal waters beginning as early as Sunday, and becoming more likely as we head into next week.
The persistent easterly winds will lead to higher than normal high tides through the remainder of the week, peaking at around 3.3-3.5ft above MLLW at times of high tide.
