.SHORT TERM... (Rest of today through Tuesday) Issued at 1033 AM CDT Mon Sep 8 2025
High pressure will be drifting off to the east tonight, allowing for southerly winds to return. This will allow for overnight lows in the 50s, slightly warmer than last night. With the return of southerly flow, moisture will also return, raising our dewpoints back into the 50s and 60s across Middle TN. A short wave will track out of the Plains and pass to our north later Tuesday into Wednesday. Soundings show some moisture in the mid-levels, but not saturated by any means and dry air will remain in the upper- levels. With little forcing and additional moisture over the area, this feature will only offer some additional cloud cover on Tuesday and Tuesday night. That said, still expecting mostly sunny skies with highs climbing into the 80s.

.LONG TERM... (Tuesday Night through next Monday) Issued at 1033 AM CDT Mon Sep 8 2025
Not much activity to talk about in the extended forecast other than mostly sunny skies, dry weather, and warming temperatures through the week. High pressure remains as an upper-level ridge builds further east through the late week and weekend. This will contribute to our warming temperatures back into the upper 80s and low 90s Thursday through next Monday. Additionally, no rainfall is forecasted through this time as CPC continues to forecast below normal precipitation over Middle TN. With the hot and dry conditions, drought conditions will likely worsen going into next week.

.AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 615 AM CDT Mon Sep 8 2025
With the exception of some light radiation fog this morning at KSRB, the TAFs are VFR. A surface ridge sits just to our west, so look for winds to shift around to the ENE today.
