.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1141 AM CDT Mon Sep 8 2025
Anyone who has been outside today can tell the air is much less humid than it has been. In my case, I was finally able to walk outside in the morning without my glasses immediately fogging up. Twas a nice change! Much of the CWA is experiencing dew points in the 50s this afternoon. Temperatures aren`t bad either. As of typing this AFD, most locations have just warmed into the low 80s. Afternoon highs are expected to be in the 85 to 90 degree range. Coupled with the low humidity, these values are actually quite nice for early September. The lower humidity will allow for temperatures to drop more efficiently this evening. Widespread overnight lows in the 60s are expected (upper 50s northern Piney Woods, 70s at the coast). In addition to the nice temps / humidity, the tropics are quiet at this time. So that`s a double win for early September!
Tuesday is looking pretty nice as well. But the pattern will gradually change as the week progresses. Mid/upper ridging will build over C CONUS, returning us to normally hot conditions. By the second half of the week, most of the CWA is forecast to be in the low/mid 90s. Dew points will be on the rise as well. But they are not expected to get THAT high for SE Texas standards. In other words, the humidity is expected to rise...but it could be much worse.

.AVIATION... (12Z TAF Issuance) Issued at 626 AM CDT Mon Sep 8 2025
VFR and NE winds throughout - 5-10 knots today, becoming light after sunset. There is a deck of clouds around 070 moving through the area that has merited some mentions in the TAFs, but will very safely stay VFR despite that.

.MARINE... Issued at 1141 AM CDT Mon Sep 8 2025
Gusty northeast winds will continue today, though decrease somewhat as the afternoon progresses. Seas of 3 to 5 feet should decrease later this afternoon and evening. Winds remain east to east-northeast, increasing somewhat again by the end of the week. A stalled frontal will result in a chance of isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms well offshore over the next several days. Could not rule out some isolated showers or storms near the coast later in the week.
