- Tranquil weather conditions will continue through the weekend
  with afternoon highs in lower to mid 90s.

/Through Friday Night/
Slightly warmer conditions are expected today compared to
yesterday with temperatures in the mid 90s across the board. The
area of high pressure we`ve been tracking over the last couple of
days is currently centered near the Midland area, slowly migrating
to the east. By this afternoon, the center of the mid-level high
will be near Abilene with a continued slow eastward progression
into Friday.
Given the strong subsidence aloft, precipitation will remain
outside of North and Central Texas. Afternoon temperatures on
Friday will once again climb into the mid 90s with early morning
temperatures in the upper 60s to mid 70s.

/Saturday Onward/
The axis of the mid-level ridge will be aligned north/south on
Saturday along the I-35 corridor. This will ensure continued
strong subsidence atop our region.
Sensible weather conditions will remain largely unchanged each day with
afternoon temperatures in the lower to mid 90s and morning
temperatures in the 60s and 70s. The tranquil weather conditions
will persist through the next 7 days given the continued influence
of the ridge.
A pattern shift is looming in the horizon as high pressure begins
to build back across the Desert Southwest next weekend. This will
return northwesterly flow to North and Central Texas, allowing
for disturbances to pass atop our region. Although rain chances at
this time remain below 15% in the 8-10 day period, we`ll continue
to assess the pattern for any additional rises in the potential
for precipitation.
