.DISCUSSION... Issued at 208 PM EDT Fri Sep 26 2025

Prolonged stretch of pleasant weather the story through next week as a dry and stable air mass holds firm with ridging the dominant feature locally in an increasingly blocky flow regime. Into this weekend, the area will be in between upper troughing settling into the southeast US and a round of height falls progressing east through Ontario and Quebec. This shortwave jet energy will send a dry frontal passage south into Michigan, possibly washing out in our far north by early Sunday with no sensible wx impacts. A pseudo omega block then emerges with anomalous ridging developing from central Canada south into the Great Lakes, which likely holds a tropical system/upper trough merger over the southeast US. The net result is above normal temps and dry conditions through the forecast.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z SATURDAY/... Issued at 1217 PM EDT Fri Sep 26 2025

Ridging will be in control with light winds, mainly clear skies and VFR conditions. A much lesser threat for fog/br development toward daybreak Saturday at the terminals tomorrow given the greater mixout of drier air today. However, temps will fall to near crossover values which may allow for some patchy ground fog to develop. Will hold off on including a br mention in the TAF at this time given the very low point chances for VIS restrictions.
