Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Wilmington OH 108 PM EDT Wed Sep 10 2025

.SYNOPSIS... High pressure and dry conditions will persist through much of the week. There will be a gradual warming trend during this time.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/... Southern extent of a surface high north of the Ohio Valley remains in place through tonight. Winds remain light and variable with lack of a pressure gradient in place. Temperatures peak in the lower 80s this afternoon under mostly sunny skies, although some clouds may sneak in from the west as an upper level shortwave trough pushes through. Lows drop back into the 50s once again tonight.

&&

.SHORT TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT/... Surface high continues to filter dry and seasonable air on Thursday through Thursday night on light northeasterly flow. Sky conditions remain mostly clear. Forecast highs are in the low 80s. Forecast lows are once again in the 50s.

&&

.LONG TERM /FRIDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/... The middle Ohio River Valley will remain just downwind of a high- amplitude mid-level ridge over the Upper Midwest through much of the extended period. Some slight modulations in the orientation of the axis will lead to slow fluctuations in temperature. A very dry atmosphere will stay in place as the general wind flow will have an easterly component outside a brief period this weekend associated with a weak frontal system.

We will note a slow warming trend this weekend ahead of a cold front sliding south through the Great Lakes. Can`t rule out a shower Saturday night with this front... though PoPs remain low due to a lack of deep atmospheric moisture as well as timing differences in the ensembles.

Next week, our main weather influence remains the high-amplitude blocking ridge to our west. As such, dry weather is forecast to continue.

&&

.AVIATION /17Z WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/... VFR conditions are expected for the TAF period. Winds remain light and variable through 1200z Thursday. Light northeasterly winds develop late Thursday morning.

OUTLOOK...No significant weather expected.

&&

.ILN WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... OH...None. KY...None. IN...None.
