.DISCUSSION... Issued at 214 PM CDT Mon Sep 22 2025
Very weak troughing in northwest Ontario drops southward this afternoon into the Borderlands. This is helping promote some weak instability showers. Radar shows the expected nature of the weakly supported showers collapsing soon after formation, which is likely to persist into the evening hours today in the Arrowhead. Any rainfall would be less than 1/10 of an inch in the Arrowhead to Iron Range area over the next few hours under these widely scattered rain showers.
Another round of dense fog moves onshore again tonight from 7-10 PM this evening. The first round of Dense Fog Advisories for those areas along or near Lake Superior go into effect at 8 PM with all other inland zones, except Price County, at Midnight tonight. Expect another night and Tuesday morning commute with visibility less than 1/4 mile. All Advisories remain in effect until 11 AM Tuesday, but some inland zones are likely able to be dropped early tomorrow morning as visibility improves 9-10 AM. More limited dense fog coverage is expected to return again Tuesday night.
The remainder of the forecast features a very quiet early fall pattern with temperatures in the upper-60s to low-70s and less than 10 percent chances of additional rainfall beyond this evening.
