.DISCUSSION...
The ridging pattern will move along and be replaced by an incoming tropical low that is already bringing showers to central and southern California. For Mono County, rainfall could start as early as this afternoon, with chances increasing to 20-30% and creeping northward to the south end of the Tahoe Basin. Tahoe Basin chances nudge upward for Thursday, with the bulk of the showers remaining south of I-80. Actually, the best chances will largely be found south of US-50 as the low migrates out into the Great Basin by late Thursday and early Friday.
We look to dry out a bit for Friday, but shower chances return Saturday, and are found northward, along and north of I-80. This will be the result of the tropical low spinning and meandering in a cut-off fashion, which will allow for lingering showers through Sunday.
On the heels of the tropical low, a new frontal boundary will approach from the west, drawing in more moisture for early week. Widespread shower activity has shaped into a forecast with more confidence the showers to increase and linger into the middle of next week. HRICH
