.DISCUSSION... Issued at 218 PM EDT Thu Sep 25 2025
Upper trough swinging through in cyclonic flow will generate a few showers this afternoon into early this evening given lingering boundary layer moisture and weak diurnal instability. This trough axis exits off to the east tonight into Friday with heights on the rise with a drier/subsident air mass filtering in. Otherwise, clearing skies and light winds may allow for some patchy fog/stratus to develop overnight into early Friday as the near sfc layer will be slower to dry out.
A stretch of pleasant (dry/warmer) weather then settles in Friday through at least the middle of next week. Upper ridging building east from the Canadian Prairies/Northern Plains to the Great Lakes and Ontario in a pseudo omega block pattern will provide this quiet wx pattern locally.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z SATURDAY/... Issued at 1257 AM EDT Fri Sep 26 2025
Minimal changes needed for the 06Z TAF issuance. Patchy dense fog has developed across northwest Indiana over the past 1-2 hours and is expected to become more widespread towards daybreak. Visibilities will be highly variable, as evidenced by the fact that KSBN dropped to 2 miles visibility with fog within the past hour and is now back up to 10 miles. With clear skies, increased radiational cooling will allow for more fog to develop, particularly between 09-13Z. IFR to potentially LIFR visibilities as possible area-wide, including at the terminals, although confidence is low as to where the lowest visibilities will occur. Fog will dissipate 1-2 after sunrise. A dry day is ahead with light southwesterly winds and VFR ceilings.
