.NEAR TERM... (Through Thursday) Issued at 1237 AM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025
Dry conditions and clearing skies are expected through the rest of the overnight period as upper trough centered across Missouri continues to move eastward and farther away from the area. Some models suggest the potential for fog development over the next several hours, and have already seen a few sites with visibility reductions. However, with a light north/northwest breeze continuing to advect drier air into the region, widespread dense fog appears unlikely at this time. Drier air will also allow for temperatures to drop into the 50s across much of the area by sunrise, with highs today rebounding back to the low to mid 80s with mostly sunny skies.

.SHORT TERM... (Thursday night through Saturday night) Issued at 1237 AM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025
Upper ridging builds into the area Friday into Saturday, helping boost temperatures into the mid to upper 80s, with some low 90s possible Saturday across our western north Texas counties. Winds will remain rather light during this period and no precipitation is expected.

.LONG TERM... (Sunday through Wednesday) Issued at 1237 AM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025
Seasonably warm weather will continue Sunday into much of next week, with temperatures dropping a few degrees Monday and Tuesday as surface ridging builds in from the northeast and winds become more easterly. By Wednesday and Thursday the surface ridge will move to the east as lee cyclogenesis occurs in eastern Colorado. This will turn our winds back to the south and keep temperatures slightly above average for this time of year. With upper ridging remaining largely in place over the region, no precipitation is currently forecast through the end of next week.
